"Researcher Schools"

« Ecoles chercheurs / Researcher Schools » - Specialized training programs for researchers

Since 2018, IDEAS has organized four editions of its 'Innovative Design' Researcher School (Ecole Chercheurs "Conception Innovante"), with the most recent one taking place in fall 2024.

In the era of "publish or perish," researchers often find it challenging to reconcile their involvement in the innovation process with their primary mission of producing academic knowledge. However, the intensive innovation our societies demand requires both creative research and original innovation strategies, calling for new ways to integrate research and innovation.
In this context, there is broad agreement on the need to involve multiple disciplines and various stakeholders in both research and innovation. However, simply bringing together different disciplines or actors is not enough to develop innovative research projects or ensure the success of innovation initiatives. To rethink, alongside key stakeholders, the connections between research, creativity, innovation, and interdisciplinarity, theories of innovative or creative design offer a potentially rich framework.
This framework—along with the tools and approaches that stem from it—is at the core of the Researcher School.
